PAIRPEP project
The PAIRPEP project aims to suppport the integration of peer and family support into Quebec’s FEPPs. As part of SARPEP, the pilot project focuses specifically on the ingration of peer support workers (PSWs) and family support workers (FSWs) within 12 SARPEP-associated FEPPs.
In complement to the accompaniment of young people and their loved ones towards recovery offered by the FEPPs, PSWs and FSWs are well-positioned to support the development of sustainable health maintenance strategies, beyond the services received in hospital settings. The presence of a mentor, who has experienced a similar journey, by sharing his or her experience, can facilitate the engagement of young people and their loved ones in their own care trajectories, providing hope and facilitating their recovery.
